Edda Williams, creator of the "Black Voices of Dignity" exhibit, will talk about why she created it and how it celebrates the many achievements of African Americans.
If you haven't experienced the moving and unique "Black Voices of Dignity" exhibit, you will want to attend this program featuring Edda Williams, the exhibit's creator. Edda will discuss how she began this exhibit as a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to counteract hatred and division, and also how it grew into an opportunity for people to acknowledge, then reflect on the many achievements of African Americans.
“Black Voices of Dignity” is an artistic walk-through re-creation of some past and current events. The exhibit consists of 15 displays which include: art, photographs, African carvings, a collection of historic memorabilia and 3-D recreations.
The images tell compelling stories of the struggles, strength, triumphs and hopes of an oppressed people.
There will be time after the presentation to view the exhibit, which will be located on the second floor of the Whittaker Road branch.
