Storytime, play time, and art time all in one! All ages will enjoy playing, reading, singing, and learning together.
Each month we will explore a different theme with our story, songs, and play. Registration is appreciated so we can have enough materials prepared for each child attending the storytime.
March: Books
Celebrate reading month with us at this all ages storytime. We will learn more about libraries, books, and reading with story time, songs and rhymes, and a book-themed craft. Bask in the power of reading by creating your very own book! Materials will be available for making fabric or felt books for infants and toddlers, small board books for preschool, and bound paper books for older participants.
April: Collage Art
Find out more about how artists create the beautiful pictures we see in some of our books. We will explore collage art, using bits of paper, pictures, paintings, and other items in an artwork, and read books featuring collage art. We will then make our own collage pieces. Younger kiddos are welcome to explore the materials used in collage in a sensory table.
May: Fruits and Veggies
The growing season is about to start and we are getting ready. Read books about farms, gardens, community plots, and all the helpers it takes to make growing food possible. We will then use some fruits and veggies to make some printed tote bags that can be used to carry books, produce, and any other treasures. Younger kiddos can explore the fruits and veggies in a sensory safe activity.
