Kelsey Ronan will visit YDL-Michigan to read and discuss her debut novel Chevy in the Hole (2022), which follows characters in the city of Flint, spanning multiple generations into Flint's history.
Kelsey Ronan grew up in Flint, Michigan. She currently lives in Detroit and teaches for InsideOut Literary Arts, Detroit’s largest and oldest literary non-profit.
Chevy in the Hole (March 2022) is her debut novel, and has already been honored by the Library of Michigan as one of its 2023 Michigan Notable Books. As described on the publisher's website: "A gorgeous, unflinching love letter to Flint, Michigan, and the resilience of its people, Kelsey Ronan's Chevy in the Hole follows multiple generations of two families making their homes there, with a stunning contemporary love story at its center."
For her visit to the Michigan Avenue branch, Kelsey will read from her novel and speak in conversation with a guest presenter. There will also be open time for Q+A.
This event will live-stream on YDL's public Facebook page and be posted on our YouTube channel afterward.
