Join members of BMR for books featuring stories from the African diaspora and a hands-on art activity in this family Book Party.
Get your little ones excited about reading through the art of stories. Join us in partnership with Black Men Read, where we bring stories of the African diaspora to our youngest readers (preK-5th grade). This event is free and open to the public.
Book Parties are storytimes, but better. Imagine a “Reading Rainbow”-like experience where every child feels seen, loved, and valued as we celebrate Black men as storytellers and community leaders. You'll hear stories from across the African diaspora, read aloud by local Black male role models.
Black Men Read Book Parties have been a staple of Washtenaw County since 2016. Visit bmrkids.org or follow @BMRKIDSCLUB on social media for more information on this local non-profit.
This event will be held in person and through Zoom. Register to receive the Zoom link (will be emailed the day before the event).
