Dare2Design is a 10-week program that guides students and their families through the invention process, designed to nurture their problem-solving abilities. Families start by identifying a problem by observing their surroundings and looking for areas of improvement, then engage in research to explore potential solutions.
Participants will create prototypes and test their inventions and ideas, learning from failures and refining their concepts. Instructors will guide participants through the program while EMU professors, STEM students and other community mentors provide support in the areas of STEM, entrepreneurship, prototype development, and public speaking and engagement.
In March 2026, participating youth will have an opportunity to showcase their prototype at EMU’s Invention Convention and could qualify to compete at the state level at The Henry Ford Museum!
