Bring your acoustic or electric guitar, pick a favorite simple song you want to share, and let's practice some tunes together!
Join our long-running YDL Guitar Club to practice your skills, learn some songs, and play in a group setting. Other stringed instruments are welcome, and singing is encouraged, but our emphasis is on the guitar.
This group is aimed at intermediate players with some basic knowledge and experience. Beginners are 100% welcome, but may want to listen and observe for a session, to see if our group is a good fit for you. No experience with proper sheet music is necessary, but we do often use basic tabs and chord notations.
Example 1: Brown-Eyed Girl by Van Morrison
Example 2: Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen
At each session, each person is invited to bring a song to share -- a cover tune that is relatively easy for everyone to work with. You are welcome to print and bring guitar tabs/chords and lyrics (often available online), or email group leader Aaron with a song suggestion, and he can print copies for everyone. We do have an ongoing list of many past songs, and sometimes revisit favorites to get better as a group.
PLEASE NOTE: We won't be meeting on May 18th.
