Scan important family photos and documents.
Join us Tuesday, January 21 at YDL-Whittaker from 2-5pm, OR Saturday, January 25 from 2-5pm at YDL-Superior to scan your important documents. Use a professional grade document scanner—on loan from the Library of Michigan—to make high-quality scans of documents 8.5 x 11" (the size of a standard sheet of paper) or smaller, including photographs, correspondence, and vital records.
Here's what to bring for scanning:
What NOT to bring for this event (these kinds of documents can be scanned any time via our standard free scanning services!):
Also, please leave home any documents that may be too fragile to survive being handled for scanning, or documents that may be dirty or contaminated.
Scans may be saved to a USB flash drive or sent to an email address as .pdf files. Attendees can bring their own USB Drives or purchase at the library for about $5-$10.
Please be aware: This event is intended to help the community digitize documents to preserve family and local history. We can not answer questions about the validity or use of scanned documents for legal or commercial purposes.
For questions, please contact Brett Hamilton (bhamilton@ypsilibrary.org, Whittaker Branch) or Mani Brito (mbrito@ypsilibrary.org).
