Learn all summer long with weekly STEM activities.
Kids ages 5-12, learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math with weekly programs. No registration required, except for July 31.
June 19: Fur, Feathers, and Scales presented by Leslie Science and Nature Center. Compare, contrast and classify live animals to learn what makes mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians different. No registration required, but space is limited.
June 26: Water Play: Measure, pour, and splash while you play with water beads and water in its liquid and frozen form.
July 3: Marshmallow Molecules: Use marshmallows and toothpicks for a hands-on approach to learning all about atoms and molecules.
July 10: Magnets: Use magnet wands to create displays, play games, and experiment with movement.
July 17: Exploring the Soil Beneath Our Feet: Learn about the layers under the ground we walk on. Top it off with a sweet earthy snack.
July 24: Circuits: Join us to learn about circuitry science with guests from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Will feature various activity stations, with a particular highlight on snap circuits.
July 31: STEM Writing with 826michigan: In this workshop, students will explore the connections between science, technology, and writing. Participants will imagine new worlds through hands-on STEM activities and use writing to create a speculative story about the future. Special guest: former NASA staffer Jim Ottaviani.
